Proposal to Adopt the of Implementing LISA QA Model
Zhuoyi Zhang
1. Why choosing The reason to choose the LISA QA Model?
Based on the requirements from the A-Team and the features of the product A-Base, I recommend the company choose the LISA QA Model as its foundation of for quality management. The reason is fourfold.

First and foremost, not only does the LISA QA Model categorize the types of errorserror types, but it also includes software functionality testing and formatting in addition to regular language quality metrics. The company views itself as the industry leader in the human resources management industry, so it will values the quality of its localized product as much as that of the original product. Since the product is web-based, it requires numerous testings rounds in the localization process. Therefore, the company definitely needs a QA model that can prevent the situations mistakes such as crashed links and malfunctioning buttons. Moreover, since the Web marketing pages need to go through the process of desktop publishing (DTP), the company needs to ensure that no overlap or truncation appears in the web posters. In a nutshell, the features that take care of cover software testing and DTP in the LISA QA Model will well-satisfy the company’s needs of for localizing the UI and Web marketing pages.

Second, using the LISA QA Model will save the company both time and money. Even though the organization LISA has been dissolved, its quality standard areis still widely used in the localization industry. (Arnsparger, 2013). Among all the quality assurance approaches or standards in the industry, the LISA QA Model is definitely the most prevailing one among language service providers and their outsourced translation team. If the company decides to implement another QA model like Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM) provided by the European Union, the company will need a great amount of time and money to train its vendors and their QA team. Given that the company has no previous localization experience and it will probably haveconfront a tight time constraint to launchlaunching the marketing campaign and the actual product, it is more feasible and practical to select a QA model that probably has been using by the partnered vendors are probably using.

Third, compared to other QA standards like such as the SAE J2450 standard, the LISA QA Model attaches great importance to stylistic errors. This makes the LISA QA Model extremely suitable for the company since the company requires the Web marketing pages to be highly polished and native-looking sounding and its vendors may ask the translators to use transcreation at some point. Therefore, the company needs to ensure that the vendors and translators are complying with the style guides the company provides. However, as no A-Team content or UIs have ever been localized before, the company probably has not established a style guide yet. Thus, the company should cooperate with its vendors to formulate some style guides before actually localizing the product. Although the company may argue that it can use METRiQ, which also evaluates stylistic errors, this online QA system focuses on errors in medical translations, which means that it is not as comprehensive as the LISA QA Model. Moreover, METRiQ, a system that is merely known by most of the LSPs, is not as popular as LISA. (Most of the LSPs merely know METRiQ system).
Finally, considering the confidentiality of its products, the company should choose a QA approach that can be implemented offline; And The LISA QA Model fits this requirement. Many online QA systems in the market such as the Canadian Language Quality Measurement System and XTM (with MQM built-in) may require the company to upload the content of its product or marketing materials to the cloud, which increases the risk of leaking the product information
