The Gigantic Leap We all have gone through the days of high school and middle school. Some of us have looked back on those days as the greatest days of our lives. Whenever I look back I sometimes think, “Was there really a difference between high School and middle school? School is school right?” If you think hard enough you will see middle school is a far cry from high school. The biggest variance is we get to pick our classes once we enter the grand doors of high school. High school allows you to choose your classes to find a mind set on what you will be doing later on in life. On the other hand middle school has mandatory classes that you have to take. The middle schools only do this because most minds are not made up on what they want to do later on. The kids are also young enough to where they do not have to be focused on what they will do for their future. One difference that people do not pay attention to is the life style and maturity levels. High school student average ages are between 15 and 18. High school students are known as young adults. They are starting to get jobs and focusing on grades for college in the near future. For a different note middle school students are in their “kid days.” They are not worrying about jobs or what they will be doing after college because they are not to that point yet. Another difference is independence. High school students are more dependent on themselves than teachers for help. These students can not
