Genghis khan
(Temujin)
Genghis khan also known as (Temujin) was born in north central Mongolia around 1162, Genghis khan was named Temujin after his father, Yesukhei, had captured a Tatar chieftain. When Temujin was young he was a member of the Borjigin tribe and a descendant of Khabul Khan, who not long ago united mongols against the jin (chin) Dynasty of northern China in the early 1100s. As stated in “Secret history of the mongols” that anyone who was born with a blood clot in their hands, was a sign in mongol folklore that they were destined to become a leader. And Temujin was one of those people. Temujin’s mother taught him the gloomy reliety of living in a mongol tribal society and the important need for alliance.
Temujin’s father took him to live with his future bride’s family when he was 9 years old. When Yesukhei was going back home he ran into members of the rival Tatar tribe, they invited him to eat with them then he was poisoned for the wrong doing he did in the past against Tatars. After hearing about his fathers death, Temujin returns home to take his fathers place as a clan chief. But, the clan refused to acknowledge the existence of the young boy’s position and his family of younger brothers and half- brothers were cast off to a near- refugee statues. Temujin argued with his half- brother and killed him so he can be the head of the family.
When Temujin turned 16 he got married to Borte, establishing the alliance between the konkirat tribe and his tribe. After a while, Borte was kidnapped by the rival Merkit tribe and was forced to marry the leader of the tribe. Temujin successfully rescued her, soon after Borte gave a birth to her first child, Jochi. The conditions of being imprisoned in the Konkirat tribe made them confused about whose son Jochi was. But Temujin still excepted him as his son. Borte had four sons from Temujin, he also had a lot of children with other wives, regardless, only Borte sons were qualified for the title in the family.

At the age of 20 Temujin was captured in a surprise attack by his former allies, but he was saved by the help of a sympathetic captor.
Temujin started to build his army slowly by building a large army of 20,000 men. His intentions were to destroy any traditional divisions between the tribes and to bring together the mongols under his power.
The Above source I used is secondary source, it was quite useful because it used evidence and it wasn’t biased.
