Finally by Wendy Mass is about a young girl named Rory and her challenges’ growing up and how turning 12 is harder than it looks. Rory is very excited to finally turn 12 and prove to her parents that’s she’s not a little kid anymore. Rory is a very outgoing and fun loving girl, that loves hanging out with her friends, who seem to have more than her. The main settings are at school and at home. The main characters are Rory. Annabelle (Rory’s best friend), Sari (Rory’s friend), Jake Harrison (famous actor), Rory’s mom and dad and Rory’s brother sawyer. Finally is about a girl named Rory Swanson and her finally getting a chance to grow up. It’s finally Rory’s 12th birthday and she has been waiting for this her whole life. Whenever she asks her parents for something they always say “When your twelve, when your twelve” so after 11 years of asking and waiting, it’s finally here, Rory’s 12th birthday. Rory has made a list of everything she wanted when she is 12 and it’s finally going to happen, she is finally going to get a phone, get to go to a boy-girl party, get to wear makeup and so much more. Rory faces a lot of new challenges’ with growing up and learn that it’s harder than it looks. When the super cute actor Jake Harrison comes to film a movie at Rory’s school, things take a turn for the worst even though the school is letting the students audition for extras in the movie. Rory knows that getting picked to be in the movie would be super cool but with her luck things go downhill fast.
