Fast food is the term given to food that can be prepared and served very quickly. While any meal with low preparation time can be considered to be fast food, typically the term refers to food sold in a restaurant or store with preheated or precooked ingredients (such as sandwich, hamburger, hotdog, pretzel, burrito, and so on) and served to the customer in a packaged form for take-out/take-away. Outlets may be stands or kiosks, which may provide no shelter or seating, or fast food restaurants (also known as quick service restaurants).
The term "fast food" was recognized in a dictionary by Merriam-Webster 1951.

The objectives of this study are: (1) to investigate which elements are important to customers of fast food restaurant among food qualities that are substantial in other restaurants and price, (2) to identify how quick-service restaurants perform in order to meet what customers think is important, and (3) to compare customers’ importance with restaurants’ performance
