Experimentation in Science

Experimentation in science is necessary for scientists to gain knowledge. After experimenting, scientists can use the data from the experiments to make various conclusions. With these conclusions, science can advance in order to progress in medicine and technology. One conclusion would be to prove a hypothesis to be valid or invalid, which is essential. From experimenting, a scientist can discover relationships between two or more variables. Lastly, a scientist can learn about how two variables react with each other when they are combined. Experimenting in science is vital to be able to draw these different conclusions. One of the most important elements in science is to be able to prove a hypothesis to be true or not, and this must be done by experimentation. When experts experiment, they use the data to prove their hypotheses’ to be true. Once a scientist collects data that proves their hypothesis correct, they can use that data to continue their research. A hypothesis tests the effects that one variable has on another, which can lead to new discoveries by scientists. For example, if a scientist hypothesized that two elements would combine perfectly to make the most durable phone case; he or she would have to experiment with these two elements. By experimenting with these elements, the scientist would be able to determine whether or not those two elements actually formed a durable material for a phone case. If the scientist’s hypothesis was correct, he or she would be able to continue their research on the best elements for a phone case. This experiment can turn into creating a strong phone case. There are numerous amounts of testing going on today to prove multiple hypotheses. Through proving a hypothesis correct, a scientist can come across different relationships between the variables tested. When scientists determine a relationship between two variables, they are able to connect the relationships to other scientific phenomenon, and events in everyday life. Scientists must experiment in order to gather the data to figure out these relationships. If a person wanted to know how fast a ball would roll down a ramp, they would be able to solve their problem using the relationship between the time and velocity of the ball moving down the ramp. Relationships help to understand the material being tested. Scientists are able to show these relationships through many different methods such as a graph. With the knowledge of relationships we can understand the world around us better. We are able to observe the world through looking at relationships between different variables. When we discover relationships, we learn to become better critical thinking scientists by thinking and observing how variables react with one another. By identifying relationships, scientists can discover how variables react to each other.
With the knowledge of how two variables react with each other, new advancements in science and technology can be
