Exercising in the 21st Century

Why do people exercise in the 21st century? Studies show that people who don’t exercise are more likely to get diseases than people who exercise. Since the 1970s, the number of fast food restaurants has more than doubled. And more than 23 million Americans, including 6.5 million children, live in food deserts-areas that are more than a mile away from a supermarket. In today's society people are less concerned with the food that they eat and the condition that their body is in, so many serious illnesses are becoming quite common. Exercising not only helps prevent heart diseases, but it also helps prevent strokes, and diabetes, and even certain types of cancer. According to Dr. Edward H. Stanley, “Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness”. So people need to start exercising before they get ill.

Another positive result due to a person exercising is improving self-esteem and confidence. Most people think of exercising as only being a physical activity, but it's also a mental activity. There have been studies that show evidence that people who exercise have higher self esteem and confidence. It also showed that active people are less likely to have depression and anxiety. Exercising gives people energy, which helps people have positive outlooks on life and it helps relieves tension and stress. When you exercise your body releases endorphins, which are chemicals that create a happy feeling in brain. Plus, when you're exercising you're bringing more oxygen into you lungs and your brain appreciates the extra air. Exercising also helps improve you brain function and your memory.

The final result that can happen to a person that he will have a good time exercising. Most people think that exercising takes up a lot of time and it requires too much work. When people actually take the time to try exercising they realize it's an enjoyable experience. It doesn't matter how you
