Ethics Integrity is fundamental to The Coca-Cola Company and a part of their vision. Everyone is expected to understand the Code of Conduct and if uncertain they are to ask for guidance from his or her local ethics officer. Managers within the organization are role models, and they are expected to act ethically at all times. These principles transcend to the four functions of management. Effective management requires good decision-making and the ability to achieve goals with maximum efficiency. The four functions of management, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling need to be applied with discipline and expertise. In the planning phase, goals are specified, and the actions needed to accomplish them (Batemen & Snell, 2011). The activities included in planning are analyzing current issues, determining objectives, choosing business strategies, and the resources needed to succeed. The Coca-Cola Company values its partnerships with its customers and its mission to “inspire moments of optimism and happiness…” (The Coca-Cola Company, 2013) the company’s goal is to provide a satisfying beverage to its customers. Organizing is assembling the financial, physical, informational, and other resources needed to achieve goals (Batemen & Snell, 2011). Managers are responsible for providing resources to employees to complete the job. Providing direction and a means for employees to strengthen skills will create favorable results. Ensuring a safe work environment and developing a strong rapport with the employees will guarantee solutions. Leading is stimulating people to be high performers (Batemen & Snell, 2011).
