Sweet Treats by Sylvia is not only a cupcake bakery, it is a place where people of all ages can come and relax, mingle and enjoy a cupcake or two. To ensure my business runs as smoothly as possible it is important that managers and employees are committed to doing what they are supposed to be doing. Being that I am the entrepreneur it is my role to bring energy, creativity and expertise to grow my business. I will be responsible for hiring managers, properly training them to make sure that they follow company guidelines, rules and that they run the business according to the company’s code of conduct. I will also meet with the managers weekly to discuss if there are any issues and bring new ideas to the table. By doing these weekly meetings I am able to communicate with my team and keep them up to date of what is going on. Communication is key to running a successful business.
Managers will be responsible for hiring employees, scheduling employee work shifts, training new employees, inventory of bakery products, ordering products, diffusing any discrepancies or issues that may arise with customers or employees, lead and organize everyone as a team. Managers will be required to fill in any position if needed, they will be knowledgeable in all positions so they are aware of what is to be expected from all employees.
Employees are the backbone of the entire business. With their commitment and team work the business will flourish. There will be different positions within Sweet Teats, so depending on the position you are hired for there will be a specific set of job duties. A cashier will greet customers as they arrive into the store, answer phones, keep store front clean and organized, box customer orders, accurately check out customers at cash register, take cupcake orders over the phone and in-person. If you are hired as a baker your responsibilities will be to make multiple flavors of frosting, frost cupcakes, embellish cupcakes, properly mix ingredients to make various kinds of cupcake flavors, bake cupcakes using industrial ovens, maintain cleanliness of work station, and replenish store front display case.
