Novel ideas not in public domain. Employees must sign nondisclosure agreement.

7. What is a patent?
Grants exclusive monopoly for 20 years, idea must be disclosed publicly.

8. What is the Fair Use Doctrine?
Says that you may use copyrighted material in certain situations — for example, in the creation of new work or, within certain limits, for teaching purposes.
