In the beginning of the twentieth century women were outsiders when it came to political life including voting, serving as a juror, holding elective office, and they were subject to wide-ranging discrimination that marked them as secondary citizens. Over the course of the century, however, women in America moved dramatically (though still not equally) into all aspects of public life such as politics, professions, mass media, and popular culture. In today’s time women are a huge part of the political life. “The National Organization for Women Political Action Committee (NOW PAC’s) are determined to elect a majority of elected officials who are committed to the advancement of women’s rights in all levels of political office. As we head toward 2016, NOW PAC’s political work will also focus on electing a feminist woman to be president of the United States. “ They are focused and driven to make sure that a woman will end up being the president of the United States by campaigning and letting all women know that it’s time for the woman figure to stand up and make their voice and vote count.
When we refer to masculinity and femininity we tend to look at ones gender and the roles they play. For example when a boy is born he is dressed in blue and will play with boy toys such as trucks and cars. And as they grow older they are to become a man and marry a woman and have children and then work a good job to provide for his family. When a girl is born she has the opposite role of a boy and is dressed in pink and dresses and will grow up playing with dolls and jump ropes. As they grow older and into a woman they are expected to stay at home with the children as the children grow up, and take care of the house while the man makes the money. Actually this is how my life
