Political Intelligence of Prime Minister in Singapore As a famous writer, Naguib Mahfouz had mentioned in his book, “a path that had no beginning and no end, for it will always be extended by those who have a passion for eternal truth”(Mahfouz) Two years life in Singapore was not enough for me to know this island so thoroughly. In my memory, Public security, cleanliness and technological development are the three main reasons why people love to travel, live and educate their offspring in there. Singapore is a social-economic country, which forms a high-pressure atmosphere in the society. Therefore, people wandered around after dinner or watched movies during the midnight are the best moment of a day. He was well educated in English but bent on bringing an end to the British rule by led people to protest to administrate under British government and clarify to be an independent country. Later, he became an anti-communist; he mentioned in the report, “ The reason I hate communism is not because of Marxism, but because of Leninism.” According to the research about Leninism, Tsang Steve, a professor of contemporary Chinese Studies who works at University of Nottingham elaborated that, “Leninism has five defining characteristics: an obsessive focus upon staying in power; continuous governance reform designed to pre-empt public demands for democratization; sustained efforts to enhance the Party's capacity to elicit, respond to and direct changing public opinion; pragmatism in economic and financial management; and the promotion of nationalism in place of Communism”(Tsang). In his view of point, Leninism has proved that to be a problem in the past. Lee Kuan Yew became a socialist politician and founded the People’s Action Party in 1954. In 1958, he helped to negotiate in London for a Singapore with a fully government responsible for all internal affairs. Soon, his party won the majority of seats in the 1959 election.
