E-commerce is a way of buying and trading goods over the internet. There are three different types of e-commerce, business to consumer, business to business, and consumer to consumer. Business to consumer is a type of e-commerce where an individual can buy from their favorite stores online whether it be physical or digital product. Business to business e-commerce is where businesses could trade and buy off of each other for their own business needs. Consumer to consumer is where individuals can buy, sell, and trade over the internet. Some of these sites could include Ebay.com and Craigslist.org. Most business to business e-commerce models use Private Industrial Networks. This usually is a large firm that uses an extranet to link to its suppliers and other key business partners. These private networks allow these businesses to interact with each other without delay and without losing their privacy. There are four different types of electronic payment systems. Credit card payments, micro payment systems, cell phones, and digital checking are the four that I am most familiar with. Using credit and debit cards are the fastest and most convenient because all you need to do is enter your information and it is done. Cell phones are a bit edgy way because it could get information from your cell phone and charge your bill without you knowing until you receive it.
