Greetings

Thank you for your interest in the Diabetes Education Program. The program incudes 4 theory courses plus one 60 hour clinical placement. The courses in the program are offered every semester, fall, winter and spring. You can find full program of study information in the Continuing Education catalogue which is available on the Mohawk website, fall winter and spring - http://cecat.mohawkcollege.ca. The courses in this program require that you have a computer with internet access. The courses in the program are delivered through Ontario Learn. Ontario Learn is a consortium of community colleges across the province of Ontario that provides courses online. One college hosts a course and offers it to the remaining colleges to pick up for their students. This means the host college owns the curriculum and provides the teachers. This is an effective way of offering more courses to more students across the province. Once you have registered for your course, instructions to start your course are available at ce.mohawkcollege.ca/get-started. You cannot access your course on the Ontario Learn site until the start date. There is one major textbook for the program: Art and Science of Diabetes Education (American Association of Diabetes Educator). This book can be ordered through the Mohawk online bookstore: mohawkbookware3000.ca.

For admission to the program, you must be a RN, RPN, Registered Dietician, Physician, Chiropodist, Pharmacist or any other regulated health care professional from the a regulatory college identified in the RHPA (Ontario). You must be currently able to practice in Ontario. You are required to fax a copy of your registration with your regulatory body to me at 905-528-7706 including the name of the program along with your email address for program approval. Once received, you will be emailed with directions for course registration. Because of the approval restriction, you cannot register online.

Approximately 6 weeks before the start of a semester, the fall, winter or spring Continuing Education catalogue becomes available and posted on the Mohawk website. The program will be
