During the process of creating a power point on MDMA, I learned a lot about Ecstasy that I didn’t know before. Before, I just viewed ecstasy as a drug that people take to make them feel better, I realized I was wrong. Something I learned is that its real name is MDMA, short for methylenedioxymethamphetamine. I learned that this drug has many powerful capabilities such as producing feelings of great energy, euphoria, sense of intimacy around others, emotional warmth, and distortions in time and perception. I learned that it is usually taken through a capsule or a pill. Others also use it as a multiple drug experience including marijuana, cocaine, and other legal and illegal substances. I learned that it affects the brain by taking on neurons with the chemical serotonin to communicate with other neurons. I also learned about the negativity of MDMA, such as depression, drug craving, confusion and severe anxiety which can take place days or even weeks after popping the first pill.
