Growing up, I pictured myself doing a lot of different things, like being a lawyer, or a doctor, I even once said I wanted to be like CSI and work with dead bodies. As I got older I realized what I really wanted to do, which is to be an orthodontist. I already know that it’s not going to be easy, but I’m willing to give it my all. Through the grace of God and good study habits I plan to make this dream a reality. Unlike a lot of people my age when I decided what I wanted to do the first thing I did was, thought about my plan. Like, work with kids or adults, the elderly, or teens, so I went and did research on which orthodontists, make the most money working with the different age groups, and the teens and primary school kids. Because I actually wanted to work with children, and the reason that working with children pays more is because they are a lot more difficult.
Another thing from thinking about what I really wanted to do with my career was picking the right school that would be best suit. I chose Alabama A&M for my major because, it’s a family oriented school and also I really wanted to experience an HBCU. It really didn’t matter what school I went to, just to major in biology, but after my four years here I plan to attend, The University of Alabama at Birmingham. They have an outstanding program when it comes to anything in the health field.
