None..........................The BBA is a non-profit making organisation whose membership is made up of those people interested in taking forward the Aims of the Association which are burn prevention, and the propagation of knowledge on the best treatment and rehabilitation following a burn injury.
The Association organises educational events and an annual scientific meeting to provide a forum for both members and non-members.
The British Burn Association, together with the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health, the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, the Cranio-Facial Society of Great Britain and Ireland and the British Association of Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgeons has written a joint letter to Mind Candy, the creators of Moshi Monsters, to stop naming “bad” characters with derogatory words such as “Freakface” which are common terms of abuse towards children with disfigurements. Spots, scars and missing eyes should also stop being used to suggest a character is “evil”.
This is a one day interactive course, free of charge for any healthcare professional expected to manage the care of the burn injured patient in either pre-hospital, hospital or emergency context.
