Equality Act 2010 – This act has been in place since 2010, the act is there to enforce equality Legislations about gender, religion, age, race and sexual orientation. There are other legislations that are merged within this act that also help. For example, the Race Relations Act 1976, the Equality Act 2006, Part 2, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and the Equal Pay Act 1970.
Children Act 1989 – This act is in place to ensure the children are safeguarded and that their welfare is cared for and observed. This act underpins and allows governs, parents; work with children who require services to meet their needs.
The special education needs and disabilities Act 2001 – this act promotes fair equality and opportunity for students and families with disabilities by having rights of legal and equal access to schools, colleges and universities.
Disability discrimination Act 1995 – This act is to prevent discrimination against people with disabilities in their process to have an equal education as anyone else. 1.2
When in an educational setting it is important that you encourage and support participation and equality amongst all the children and young people. You should offer any and all opportunities to every child no matter of personal background. We want children to feel valued and to gain more confidence to do this we would have to adjust and try out different tactics that may or may not work within the school, including students and giving them group activities may boost their confidence and make them feel more comfortable with you and other students.

The importance of valuing and promoting cultural diversity is that all children no matter of their background should be treated equally. They all need to feel special as individuals, there are a variety of ways of making a child feel special and valued. For example, praise them with their work, remembering their names, Stickers as a reward as well as ticks, house points and outing her work on display. Also you can introduce activities such as show and tell so they can present things that they are proud of at home, value their thoughts, ideas and opinions, compliment them when they have done something good or answer correctly. You could invest in a toy or teddies for the children to take home on separate weekends get them to take a picture and bring it in, lastly get them to help in cleaning up with you so they can learn from you that is important to tidy up after themselves.
Planning Activities.
You should pre-plan some activities for the children or young people to participate in, make sure the plan involves ALL children whatever their background or physical needs.
Resources.
All classroom resources should be available and accessible to the children, it is important that the equipment they will need is at an accept height for them to reach and that they can get safely. Children will need to be taught how to use the resources safely. For example, how to handle scissors appropriately and make sure there are left and right handed
