Per our brief conversation last week regarding The Micah Center representing Davis Memorial COGIC.
Recapping Meeting Overview:
At the risk of stating the obvious, The Micah Center is an organization seeking equity and justice for the marginalized and the poor of Western Michigan.
To accomplish this, they are seeking to be church based and are in search of participating congregations to serve this ministry. Service is carried out through working with one of the nine advocacy groups:
1. Beyond Prisons
2. Environment
3. Health Care
4. Wage Theft
5. Payday Lending
6. Poverty Hunger
7. Micah Center
8. Transportation
9. Immigration, and
10. Education
These groups operate to present issues that affect those marginalized people.
