Diabetes is a serious condition, It’s a disease where there is too much sugar in the blood stream this causes diabetes. Diabetes is a problem with our body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels rise higher normal. This is also called hyperglycemia. Diabetes is a silent killer in New Zealand societies.
There are two types of diabetes, they affect different people and have different causes. Type one diabetes occur when the body has damaged the cells in the pancreas that produces insulin. Type one diabetes is most commonly diagnosed during childhood or teenage years. Type two diabetes usually appears later in life, often between the age 35-45 years recently numbers of children have been increasing that is diagnosed with this condition.in type two diabetes, the body either produces too little insulin, which means it cannot covert enough glucose into energy, which means it cannot use insulin correctly.
In our bodies diabetes uses the sugar in our blood as fuel. If a person has diabetes, their body is unable to use sugar because they are missing a very important substance in our body called insulin. Insulin is the hormone produced by the pancreas that helps the body to cover glucose into energy. The pancreas is a gland near the stomach that produces insulin, as well as juices to digest food.
If diabetes is not treated it can cause problems like tiredness, weight loss and damage parts of your body such as the heart, kidneys, eyes and feet. People with diabetes are advised to make daily reviews of their feet. They should see a chiropodist (a doctor for your feet) annually, who will check their ability to feel pressure on the soles of their feet and toes. Diabetes can also cause skin problems; fungal infections can occur in the hands, feet, groin and vaginal areas.
To prevent diabetes you should have a healthy diet, it is important for everyone. As children and adolescent are still growing their diet is especially important. All children should have regular checkups to make sure their weight for their correct height. Step one: Eat some breakfast, whole grains, breads, oatmeal, fruits and nuts are better than buttery pancakes. Step two: Eat less meat and more nuts. Harvard university research recently published a study that they found eating walnuts or more per month reduce their risk of type two diabetes by 24% compared with women who eats no walnuts. Step 3: While earlier research has proven that exercise helps prevent diabetes, you should do physical activities after following meals. The research found that three short past meal walks were as effective at reducing blood sugar over 24 hours as a single 45-minunte walks. If people with diabetes take good care of themselves and keep their blood glucose within normal levels, it is unlikely that their condition will lead to other difficulties.
