Most of my responses were true which indicates that I find value in cross-cultural experiences. My job has afforded me the chance to meet a lot of people from different walks of life. You can learn a lot from exposing yourself to different cultures. Stereotyping is mostly a result of generalizing things that you don’t have a full understanding of. You have to be engaged with people to know that one size doesn’t fit all. The diversity in my work center keeps it interesting. We can all learn about from each other’s strengths and weaknesses creating a powerful work dynamic. You will cripple yourself and your company if you are not willing to look at things from all perspectives. We live in a global and highly technical environment. Change is a key factor for the success of any company. It’s the way you approach change that constitutes how well you adapt to it.

According to this exercise I am equalitarian which indicates the extent to which I see myself as non-authoritarian. This is a very conflicting assessment to me. I do believe that everyone should be afforded the same opportunities to succeed. However, I don’t believe everyone has the same capacity to succeed in everything. Just like we learned in the textbook, individuals have to determine if their personal goals or skillsets fit with an organization. When your personal goals align with those of the company you have a more harmonious work experience.

As far as being authoritarian, I believe we all possess this trait. I believe we are all in control of our own destiny. You can’t always control what happens around you, but you
