Descriptive Statistics Paper
The wages and wage earners data reports experienced a disparity between men and women. There are multiple reasons why wage disparities exist between men and women. The research conducted by the team will determine why these disparities exist. This paper originates on information of data coming together between both groups. The central tendency, dispersion, and skew data will be examined. In order for the team to calculate the measure of central tendency we will measure an adequate sample or population that will represent a true mean. The measure of central tendency will
The mean wage between female and male participants ranged from 70,000, which represented female participants and 74,000 for males. The maximum yearly salary for male participants was 145,000 compared to the maximum yearly salary of females, which were 123,000. The mean salary for male participants averaged 75,000 a year to 71,000 a year for female participants. When comparing the salaries of each 100 participants, the dispersion of data is used because it covered a wide range of salaries by occupation, education, age, and working experience. According to the dispersion of data based on the 100 participants 1% of the participant wages fell between 0 and 10,000, 32% between 10,000 and 20,000, 23% between 20,000 to 30,000, 24% between 30,000 and 40,000, 6% between both 40,000 to 50,000 and 50,000 to 60,000. Participants earning 60,000 to 70,000 consist of 4% and 1% of participants salaries ranged from 70,000 to 80,000. Based on the maximum salary wages earned per participant, 3% earned 80,000 to 90,000 a year. When comparing the wages between male and female participants both had data, which consisted of skewedness. The male data values based on wage had a mean wages that fell slightly below the median. As for the data values of women wages, the mean values exceeded the median.
