I see your dirty face
High behind your collar
But it’s done in vain
Truth is hard to swallow
So you pray to God
To justify the way you live a lie, live a lie, live a lie
And you take your time
And you do your crime
Well you made your bed
I made mine

Because when I arrive
I bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What the Saints forgot I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

Now the son's disgraced
He, who knew his father
When he cursed his name
Turned, and chased the dollar
But it broke his heart
So he stuck his middle finger
To the world
To the world
To the world
And you take your time
And you stand in line
Well you'll get what's yours
I got mine

Because when I arrive
I bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher What the Saints forgot I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

Yeah!
Wayne's world
Planet Rock
Panties drop
And the tops
And she gonna rock 'til the camera stop
And I sing about angels like Angela
And Pamela
And Samantha
And Amanda
And Tamara
Ménage à trois
I’m in here up like bitch what's up
Mechanic, me, I can fix you up
I can dick ya up
I can dick ya down
Shorty we can go wherever just pick a town
And the jewelry is louder than an engine sound
Big ass rocks like off the ground
Baby like sex that’s on the ground, Weezy
My aim is perfect Ill bang ya

Because when I arrive
I bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What the Saints forgot I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

Because when I arrive
I bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What the Saints forgot I must now remind you
Just Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

Im back like I forgot somethin
Im somethin
Rollin' Rock rubbin' rap runnin'
Miles like I'm trying to get a flat stomach
Like Wayne the personal trainer
My aim is perfect I'll fuck ya
Period, Like the remainder

I wish I could be
As cool as you
And I wish I could say
The things you do
But I can't and I won't live a lie
No not this time.

I chose this song for its use of biblical reference and contrasting vernacular to demonstrate the writer’s contempt for hypocrisy.

The depth of Kevin Rudolf’s “Let it Rock”
A song like “Let it Rock” leaves a strong mark on the music scene, especially if it’s an artist’s debut single, as it was for Kevin Rudolf. Previously an accompanying guitarist, working with such artists as Justin Timberlake and The Black-eyed Peas, this first single achieved multi-platinum status for Rudolf, selling over 4 million copies.
Written as his own personal censure to “the hypocrisy in the world”, Kevin Rudolf’s use of vernacular with Biblical references produced a powerfully rhetorical song which alarms, disturbs and captivates the listener all at once. Rudolf said in an interview with djbooth.net, “(the song) was written from a place of anger and dissatisfaction with the world. It's a song about hypocrisy. It contains biblical references - and yet people still think it's a party song. Whatever works.”
The ironic reaction of listeners to his music, at times, seems to surprise Rudolf, himself. And yet, it is the songs heavy use of irony, not only in his lyrical expression but in his musical style, which creates such a strong tug upon the listener. The fact that the music drives and pulses and urges one to dance and “party” while the lyrics unceremoniously indict you, the use of such lines as “pray to God” and “live a lie”, the telling of the story of the Prodigal Son depicted in such baser vernacular, all play to the same morbid fascination in our psyche that drives people to rubber-neck at traffic stops.
The song comes in with a shrill, techno screeching and
