My article focuses on Walmart announcing how their full time employees are now taking advantage of signing up for health insurance, and how the shareholders would be affected by this outcome. However, benefits will be available to many more low income families because of this decision. The new health care article also explains why so many more individuals will consider health insurance through their employer instead of utilizing other resources. There are several reasons why employees will choose to select coverage though their employer, for starters the premiums is inexpensive, which is a great benefit, paying a monthly premium of $18, rather than going through the affordable care act marketplace and spending more monthly because your annual income you’re placed in a bracket that will have you paying extremely premiums that one may not be able to afford. However, there are more individuals that are still oppose their option of gaining health insurance, simply because, they cannot afford any of the available options for one reason or another, and they find that paying the annual tax penalty to be cheaper depending on one’s household size. Some may believe the effect of the affordable care act focuses on people that were shut out of the marketplace before. In addition the article compares individual mandate to Massachusetts and their requirements for health coverage and giving the small business owners the option to no longer offer health insurance to their employees since there are many other
