Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies by Michelle Malkin.
“Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies,” written by Michelle Malkin, is one of the most captivating and eye opening books I have ever come across. In the most clear and concise language, Marlin unravels the secrets and corruption behind Obama and his staff. Michelle Malkin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 20, 1970.
Malkin is a New York Times bestselling author, a political commentator, and a conservative blogger. After launching her career at the Los Angeles Daily News, Malkinwrote columns for the Seattle Times. In 1999, she became a nationally syndicated columnist working with the Creators Syndicate. Aside from having written 4 successful books, Malkin is also a frequent commentator on FOX News. In her book “Culture of Corruption,”Malkin bashes on Obama, his staff members, and, of course, his lovely wife, Michelle Obama. Malkin begins her book by discussing the many “withdrawals and botched appointments” that Obama faced with his nominees during the first 100 days of his first term (Malkin 6.) Mrs. Malkin also discusses the reasons why the nominees dropped their names. For every single nominee, there was some sort of scandalous story lurking in his or her name. Some had committed tax frauds and some had been involved with corrupted dealings. Malkin also goes on to discuss the seemingly innocent Michelle Obama. She explains that Michelle has played prominent roles in various companies as a result of her husband’s fame, rather than from her own accomplishments and capabilities. Mrs. Obama has also participated in various unethical deals, however, when she began her new job at the University of Chicago Medical Center, her actions shocked me.Mrs. Obama created the Urban Health Initiative plan, which she claimed would “ dramatically improve health care for thousands of South Side residents” (Malkin 55.) In reality however, Mrs. Obama’s plan was to “dump low-income patients with non-urgent complaints from the [University of Chicago] medical center” (Malkin 54.) This makes me sick. How can anyone be so selfish? Both Mrs. Obama and our president, claim that they strive to be of help to low-income families. Helping low-income families with health care has been Obama’s central promise throughout his entire campaign. It stuns me that Mrs. Obama shamelessly addresses the lower classes and claims to help them, even though, she could not care less about their well-being. Another huge focus in Malkin’sbook, was Obama’s Cabinet of unethical and unqualified people. Malkin begins her attack with CIA Director Leon Panetta, who served in Obama’s administration from 2009 to 2011. When appointing Panetta, Obama looked for someone who would not have any ties to Bush. According to Malkin, however, Panetta had “zero experience in intelligence matters” and “the only central intelligence-gathering duties Panetta has performed are cocktail parties and corporate boardroom meetings” (Malkin 104.) Mrs. Malkin also goes on to attack Attorney General Eric Holder, who is infamous for his participation in the STF gunwalking scandal. As Malkin continues to attack numerous people from Obama’s staff, I find myself frustrated by how Obama, or his consultants, failed see any of these scandals coming. Many of these individuals have dealt with shady business ventures in the past, and the president should have considered those flaws prior to appointing those individuals to prominent positions in our government. From Hillary Clinton’sRussian gaffe to the claims at being one of the most transparent politicians, Malkin leaves nothing untold. Hillary, as is the norm with all politicians, has been involved with many corrupt dealings and organizations. What is absolutely absurd, however, is that Mrs. Clinton claims to be “the most transparent person in public life” (Malkin 255). That is absolutely ridiculous
