When we think of Pop Culture, we relate it with the American Idol show. The American Idol show was created in 2002 by Simon Fuller. "The show contest seeks out to discover the best amateur singer in the country, through a series of nationwide auditions.(Answer.com)." There are three judges that critique the contestants performance. There are also call in and text in voting in the U.S. These such contest are countrywide and therefore all have culture implications.
Here in the U.S. we find that most contestants compete to show there country the best singer. These singers work and practice very hard to show that they are ready to represent their country as the best singer of their country.While not all countries participate in the call in or text in voting, four in ten house holds use telephones. In the U.S. "we have the highest divorce rate in the world. When someone habitually over eat it is an indication of unhappiness, so the obesity is an indicator of widespread un-happiness." (Qutor.com 2007).
One American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery of Garner, N.C. had no problem admitting to the world that he was gay. Though he came out, it did not affect his career as an idol. McCreey signed on with Mercury Nashville earning a contract that gave him $250,000.00 in advance for recording his first album."(wikipedia.com) Music in the us varies from pop, rock, country, to R&B. No one genre of music can represent the taste of a whole country. McCreery now runs for a seat for the House of Representitaves.
