According to "The Critical Thinking Community" (2011) “Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action.” (para. 3). To me critical thinking has a big impact on our everyday life. From home to work to everywhere we go. It is important to be ready to listen our peers and evaluate not just by impulse but with a clear mind and no feelings involved. One of the significant things that I learned in this class and was induced in week five was ‘never settle for less’ this was said by Steve Jobs. This got stuck on me because unfortunately as Hispanics people tend to categorize us as people who prefer hanging around with friends and not do much of our lives. I for once refuse this categorization in my life. I have so many goals to complete that I will not be put down by anyone. We need to have high expectations of ourselves ‘the sky is the limit’. Another thing that was interesting is how we let our emotions guide the way we think when it should not be like this. Sometimes one of our main reasons of why we say something has a lot of feelings behind it, not knowing that it might affect the way others think about us.
