Since I am a disabled veteran and not able to work I have to do research on Criminal Justice and how it relates to my career path. I am going to do just that. I choose Criminal Justice back in 2005 due to the fact that I was working in an attorney’s office at the time and I thought it would be great to have a degree in criminal justice and help them with my degree. I think math and Criminal Justice go hand in hand due to the fact that there are a lot of things that need to be added. When it comes to math Criminal Justice in tales a lot of math; when traffic officers come to an accident they have to use a lot of math for figuring out the distances of where and when the cars hit each other. They need to know the angles and need to know the speeds and distances traveled, points of collisions. If there is a death the officer needs to know math for determining the climate of the body temperature and the time of death. Crimes that involve firearms require math for figuring the trajectory and distance of the bullets. Cases involving controlled substances are also needed for math for weight measurements. They need to know the amounts of drugs are in a baggie when they catch a criminal so they can know the severity of the offense. Forensic Science is another part of the Criminal Justice area that needs math for DNA analysis and biology. Criminal profiling helps investigators determine the particular class of crime.
