Geographical Situation
Peru is located in the west of South America, and has borders with Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, and Chile. It is almost twice the size of Texas. Peru is the third largest country in South America, and has a wide range of natural resources. The country has three main regions which are coast, mountains and jungle (Peru Travel, 2015). Generally, May through October is the dry season; November through April is the rainy season, and there are usually more than 15 days during rainy season in Peru (Frommers, 2015).
Demographical Situation
Peru has a population of 30,444,999 people that ranks 44th in the world. The official language is Spanish and Quechua, and there are 84.1% Peruvians speak
Political Situation
Peru has been politically unstable since independence was declared in 1821 and formally granted by Spain 3 years later. Since independence Peru has had 109 presidents, 18 percent of whom were democratically elected. Ollanta Humala, a career army officer, won the June 2011 presidential election after promising to respect democracy and spread the benefits of a decade-long economic boom to the poor（BBC News, 2012).
Healthcare in Peru
Medical care is generally good in major cities in Peru, however rural areas usually lack medical facilities and services. Peruvian always complained about the waiting time to receive appointments or schedule an operation is generally very long. ciaThe degree of major infectious diseases is very high. The major infectious diseases of food or waterborne are bacterial diarrhea, hepatitis A, and typhoid fever. The major infectious diseases of vectorborne are dengue fever, malaria, and Bartonellosis (CIA, 2015). In Peru, for every 1000 people, the hospital bed density is 1.5 and the physician density is 0.92 (Country Reports, 2015). The leading causes of death from health ailments in Peru are influenza and pneumonia that average deaths accounts 17,399 per year, heart ailments that average deaths accounts 15,997 per year, and HIV or AIDS that average deaths accounts 5,046 per year (Healthcare in Peru, 2015).
