Conquering the Interview

Getting the dream job can be very strenuous, but one of the main steps of obtaining that dream job is acing the interview. Once an interview has been requested, it is important that the prospective employee makes the necessary preparations to be equipped for what may take place at even given time of the interview. Although every interview may operate differently, there are precautionary measures that should be taken before, during, and after an interview in order to make the best impression possible. After an interview has been scheduled by a potential employer, there are several things that should be accomplished before it actually takes place. Two things that should definitely be done are to be prepared and to do research on the company and/or position. Cover letters and resumes should be neat and free from any errors (“Before”). Researching the company and the position will enable the individual to ask better questions, which is another aspect of interview that should be prepared before the interview. It displays the esteem the individual has for the job when the prospective employee has created a few well-formulated questions for the interviewer (“Before”). Most importantly, always be on time. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the interview is scheduled to prepare effectively (“Before”). Once the individual has the taken the initiative to make the necessary preparations to prepare for the interview before it actually takes place, he or she must now make sure to be polite, concise and demonstrative. There is never a reason why a person should not be polite to everyone that you encounter during the course of your interview, whether it is the receptionist or the person who is conducting the interview (“Job”). Depending on the nature of the position, the interviewee should be also be prepared to demonstrate any aspect of that particular job description. “If the job requires the use of a particular piece of eye care equipment, you may be asked to demonstrate your ability to use that equipment” (“Before”). Employers need assurance that you are really qualified for the position. The interview is now over, but there are a few things that should be accomplished before it comes to a complete close. One of which is to ask questions. This gives the individual an opportunity to find out more about the company
