Over the course of this semester in I believe that I have grown stronger with my reading and writing skill as we were reading four different novel stories of “Winner," “Short Story," “Myth” and “Romeo and Juliet." And at the same time I learned distinctive types of conflict and including Internal and external conflict and also learned how the characters deal with conflict in their lives from the novels. The first book I read is “Winner," this book brings up several interesting subjects like racism, spite against natives and their culture and how to cope with a new home and a handicap. This novel had a lot of conflict around the main character of Jordy Threebears. He had a conflict with white; he got a racism comment from them. And In chapter 2, it had a clearly evidence of racism appears him, a guy was driving a truck toward him and throw a beer of the bottle at him and tearing him said, ”Dam dirty Indian”

The people must make a choice to resolve their problems when they are in trouble of their own conflicts. In the short story “Lather and nothing else” shows the barber had conflicted of making a decision, whether he killed the Captain Torres or not without danger. The barber’s first decision for resolving the conflict simply kills the Captain Torres because Captain Torres was on a foray against his fellow revolutionaries.
