Conference with a Librarian

My conference with a librarian was with Alfredo Vergel. We discussed my topic over the economic effects of ending prohibition of cannabis. We started our discussion around 7:00 pm and ended around 7:30 on 9/23/2013. Our conversation proved very helpful for many reasons including online sources and library sources. The research that is required for this assignment is intense. I found myself in a dead end in research until I met with the librarian. He pointed me into several options that would help me in my research. This included articles that had information on business projects that saved the economics of some towns in California. We discussed the reality of how the economics would be impacted by the legalization of cannabis. He played devil’s advocate while I gave him reasonable solutions and answers to his questions pertaining to cannabis. He made me think on a whole new level and approach. The overall outcome of him playing devil’s advocate actually helped strengthen my topic in the long run. The web sources are not always reliable. He showed me how to properly navigate the database. He typed in key words and did specific searching. He said that he would be glad to help me with my project and order sources if I come across a source that interest me pertaining to my topic.
