The Concert I chose to do this on is the 2014 SuperState Concert band Festival. The first song was good overall but it sounded like at the beginning the bass was kind of overpowering.(At least to me.)
Throughout the song, the flutes were not that much in tune with the clarinets or the saxophones. At about 3:40, into the concert where the clarinets have the arpeggios they sounded really sharp. At 5:46, the
Trumpets and who ever else has the quarter notes I think that is what they are, are not in time with you. At the beginning of the second song, all eyes were not on you. I think at one point some people forget where the melody because throughout the song it was kind of hard to hear who had the important part.I think at one point somebody lost count. On the last note of the second song, the flute soloist was playing flat, but I may be wrong. When you were about to start the third song, I saw that you were saying something to them and half the people were looking around or what not. At 13:09 that part I really liked. It sounded kind of like a

tango. I would have liked to hear more of the bass clarinet parts. In this song when everybody plays together at 13:28, I liked how everybody kind of complemented each other in like a harmony. At 13:36, the bass clarinets and who ever else has that part with them could play out when the clarinets and flutes had the part where they were silent. At
13:52, when the clarinets and alto saxophones play, the did not “agree” with each other on when it was suppose to be short or long. I like how at 14:12, the saxophones got really quiet. At 14:23, the saxophones we not listening to each other. One of them was sharp. At 15:55, the clarinets fingers were not aligning up with their tongues it sounded like.
At 17:35, once again, I liked the tango sound. The percussion clapping and the mutes( I think thats what they are called) on the trumpets made the tango style sound complete. At 20:28, I like the clarinet/baritone solos. I think who ever was playing those two sound good together.
I think that the pieces selected for this band was a good choice. The first song Toccata Marziale was composed by Vaughan Williams. This piece was composed in 1924. I have learned that this piece of music was Vaughan Williams second work for military bands. He was born in Down Ampney, United Kingdom in October 12, 1872. And
