What words or phrases come to mind when you think of the term Cold War?
"The term Cold War can be defined as the period of political impasse which existed between our country (U.S.A.) and U.S.S.R. from the early 1950's until the fall of Communism in the early 1980's. Words and phrases associated with Cold War include, "race to arms", "race to space", "Bay of Pigs, and "The Berlin Wall"."
Did you ever study the Cold War in school? If so, what are some aspects of the Cold War that you remember?

It was put up on August 13, 1961 and was torn down on November 9, 1989. At first I thought the wall was a straight wall but I learned it actually circled around and everybody that was in Berlin at that time were all trapped there.
Tearing down the wall was a way of reuniting.
The "Iron Speech" of Winston Churchill set the tone for the Cold War as well:
"… A shadow has fallen upon the scenes so lately lighted by the Allied victory. Nobody knows what Soviet Russia and its Communist international organisation intends to do in the immediate future, or what are the limits, if any, to their expansive and proselytising tendencies.
