Con-Vaccinations
To start off, many parents believe that they should have the right to determine whether or not their child should be vaccinated. Throughout the nation many families have strong religious beliefs that would be violated if forced to take vaccinations. The government can not step in to this arena since that would be a violation of the 1st amendment right and their right to whatever religion they please. To expand on this topic of religion, some people believe that vaccinations are not in the plan of God and vaccinations will not let diseases take their natural course. Based off of our advancement in not only technology, but personal hygiene, the sewer system, etcetera, many life threatening have diminished greatly. Since we have this data, people stand behind the argument that it is unnecessary since the disease is almost gone already and the chances of getting them are slim to none. Another reason not to vaccinate is that depending on the person vaccinations can “cause rare yet serious reactions including anaphylactic shock, paralysis, and sudden death”. Not to stop there, but “Vaccines can trigger auto-immune disorders such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, lupus, Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), and other disorders”. These are some serious problems that people are not willing to risk just to help prevent themselves from getting a disease they might not get anyways.
