The Night Circus is a very good book. The main characters are Bailey and Celia. Bailey is a farm boy who wants to become the leader of the circus and Celia is the magician for the circus. There was a game going on throughout the whole book and the circus was basically a venue for a game that (we don’t find that out till the middle of the book) would cost both their players (Celia and Marco) their lives.
I think that the book was telling me not give up on your dreams. The whole book was written like the time it was set in the 18000’s and it had a magical dream-like aura. It made you feel like you could achieve anything if only you don’t give up on your dreams. When Bailey wanted to run away to the circus his family mocked him and told him he had to be a farmer for example bailey’s sister said “running away to the circus!!! That is the most absurd idea I have ever heard” but he followed his dream and became the manager of the circus. Erin Morgenstern was also trying to say (apart from not to give up on you dreams) was that no matter how bad the situation is you must always look at the good things in life and you will somehow get through it all for example when Tara burgess (one of the organisers of the circus) dies then an actor dressed as an angle, comes down and hovers above the grave.
I go to circus class so it didn’t change my idea of circus much. But my best friend Oscar says”ha! You go clown school” so his idea of circus obviously involves clowns and elephants
August’s cruel message is clear that the circus is no place for independent passions. Symbols: Water – A symbol of purification, which is portrayed many times. Before Jacob jumps on the train the book states: “When I first submerged my feet into frigid water, they hurt so badly I yanked them…
from the local Rinaldo Circus. This traumatizing incident is one of many in the series of circus animal escapes and rampages on the public, causing danger to themselves and those around them. Transporting wild animals can be stressful for these creatures, separating them from family and social groups. They are also intensely confined and chained for long periods of time. It is no surprise that many of these animals try and escape from the abuse. The promise and magic of the circus suddenly withers away…

“Water for Elephants,” Sara Gruen’s lightweight page turner about a Depression-era traveling circus, would appear to be a vehicle ready-made for a prestigious family movie on the order of “Seabiscuit.” With its star attraction, a gentle elephant named Rosie who understands Polish, the novel belongs to the John Irving school of semi-serious whimsy with allegorical overtones. The primary draw for Water for Elephants is the pairing of Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson (ignore the ten year age…
Animal Abuse in Circuses Many circus animal owners have been put under the category that they are animal abusers but, little do people know that not all animal owners are animal abusers. Some people say animals should not be allowed in the circus but then there are people that think they should be allowed in the circus. Many people think that circus people should not have animals because they abuse them, but people need to be aware that they must fit in with regulations of the Animal Welfare…
going to a university to become a veterinarian, however after finding out his parents passed away in a car accident he was left penniless and decided to join the circus. to illustrate the joy and noise of a carnival or circus. However the exhibit also operates on a darker level. The concept of the circus being a reflection of society, but inversed, is clearly illustrated in the paintings of Dan Kennedy. His paintings abound with cryptic partial phrases and half-finished visual ideas. He perfectly reflects the illusionary and cathartic aspects of the circus, while also pointing out, with clarity, the way the circus operates on the peripheries, from the outside looking…
they felt attacked, or were being hurt. Circuses are not a stationary form of entertainment, like a television. Circuses travel on average 48 weeks per year. The animals that are forced to go with them spend around 26 hours in small cages. A famous circus called the Ringling Bros. stated that it “travels 30,000 miles for 11 months, and visits more than 140 cities in North America!”(PETA). Animals were born free, they are not meant to be kept in small enclosures, and are not meant to be doing tricks…
