Life with Fear Fear is the best weapon of all to great manipulators, it can move people to do anything no matter how ridiculous. In my point of view fear conquers all. In the passage of “Sinner in the Hands of an Angry God’ author Jonathan Edwards is able to create anxiety in the reader to make them want to change their ways in order for god to accept them and importantly not go to hell.

In the text Edwards compares spiders to sinners saying, god holds people over the pit of hell, right conduct is no more able to keep you out of hell than a spiders web is able to catch a boulders. The threatening tone he has throughout the text makes the audience just see god as provoked. As of that Edward uses fear to motivate his readers to quite their sinful ways in order to be in the hands of god.

Besides Edwards point of view in motivation, there are several other subjects that use fear as motivation. Society has always imposed on us, what to do, what to think and feel and if we don’t follow we end up out of bound. Fear is mostly revealed throughout media, television 24/7 , such as religion, and human lifestyle. An alternative for using fear with children will be thought by parents in rewarding when done something and if not they would be punished. Naturally, every child obeys their parents because the child is in deeply need of their parents. In religious ways, they are taught to follow anything but our inner voice and follow god, also taught us to have faith. People
