Have you ever been sitting in your dorm, after a long day of classes and hours of homework, just craving something sweet? Have you ever been craving a brownie? Today, I’m going to demonstrate how to make just one, individual brownie in four simple steps, so you’re not tempted to eat half a pan.
Most of us are living in crammed spaces with extremely limited access to kitchen appliances, or you’re like me who has zero baking ability what so ever and even if I had a kitchen I would only use the microwave to heat up pre-cooked meals. However, before I even came to college I began making these individual brownies as a quick midnight snack. This treat can be made in four simple steps: 1. Add the dry ingredients, 2. Before we start making the brownies we need the right equipment and ingredients. All you need is a microwave to fully cook the brownie and a mug or cup that is microwave safe. For the ingredients, we need ¼ cup of sugar, ¼ cup of flour, 2 tbsp of cocoa, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp of olive oil, and 3 tbsp of water.
I gave you all plastic cups and paper writing of the ingredients necessary for making this brownie; I unfortunately did not pack twenty microwavable safe mugs to college, so just follow along what I’m doing with the real ingredients with your pretend ones. To begin, add all the dry ingredients (1/4 cup sugar, ¼ cup flour, 2 tbsp cocoa, and a pinch of salt) into the mug making sure you mix them completely with a fork or a spoon, you can also add a pinch of cinnamon if you like the taste. Second, add the liquid ingredients (2 tbsp olive oil and 3 tbsp water) into the mug and mixing it until the mixture is consistent so it looks like dark chocolate milk. Like the cinnamon, if you like the taste you can add 1 to 2 drops of vanilla extract if you desire, but it is not necessary.
