Obesity and its health effects

Obesity is the condition of being very fat or overweight; corpulence (Dictonary . com, n.d.). Obesity is a medical condition which is defined as excessively high amount of body fat in relation to lean body mass. Although many individuals are uncertain about the increasing statistics associated with obesity. The prevalence of childhood obesity is rising and so is the steady incline of comorbidities in young adults. Obesity reduces life expectancy and increases the health problems. However, obesity effects the person in many ways such as physically, psychologically, and socially.

The foremost effect of obesity is that it effects the individual physically. Due to obesity people become the victim of many diseases particularly heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, and sleep disorders which is known as ‘sleep apnea’. There is an indirect relation between obesity and heart diseases. In spite of this, obesity leads to another diseases such as high blood pressure, cancer, metabolic syndrome, reproductive syndrome, liver and gall bladder disease, osteoarthritis, metabolic syndrome etc. These diseases to avoid this everyone should take proper meals at time. It is the result of many unhealthy habits so one should try to avoid such a junk and oily food to protect themselves from obesity.

Obesity leads to many psychologically disorders in overweight people. They might have to suffer from mentally stress due to their overweight. Obese people have low self-esteem.
