A good Manager
There are different characteristics and competencies a good manager must have. Even though each individual is different, I believe every manger should possess similar characteristics in order to be successful in being a good manager. In addition, I believe personality plays a major role in being a good manger. By carefully reviewing the managerial roles and skills a manger must have, and taking the personality test online, I’ve found some differences and similarities in myself. One similarity I found to have is interaction with people inside and outside of work, this falls under interpersonal roles. I tend to be seen as a leader, and a go to person; a helper. I think this is a great trait to have because it facilitates communication within the company and between employees. People want to know they can count on their manger for help and be able to communicate with them easily. Another similarity I found was a disturbance handler. This role falls under the decisional role. I’m good at handling a complex situation or problem. I utilize information to make decisions to help solve problems. This role is one I find very important because a good manager is going to be faced with various situations and complexities that will need to be handled carefully and accordingly. That could be a bad thing when it comes to management. A good manager has to effectively be able to handle their feelings and relate to their employees. Also, they must be able to control their own feelings and not automatic act on them. They must take time to
