Case Paper 8: Chantale and Clinton Chantale and Clinton are two French-Canadians that are loyal customers to the Canadian Store which sells appliances that the family has been purchasing from for more than 20 plus years. They were having trouble on deciding which refrigerator that they should buy the Canadian brand Bryand or the American brand refrigerators. The family of four decided to go with the Bryand brand refrigerator from the Canadian store and purchased the 5 year extended warranty on the appliance so if they had any problems they would be coverd. The family noticed that the new refrigerator was noisier than the previous model that they had prior. Clinton would time the compressor to see how many times it would turn off and on. He then called the Canadian Store and spoke to a technition and told him his problems and the tech said that everything is fine and that he should not worry. He also asked how cold should he put the refrigerator at and the rep said that since they are in Canada that its colder so they can reduce the temperature to 4 degrees celcius. After the next few weeks he noticed that the appliance was getting as high as 12 degrees celcius and that there was something wrong. He had the company send out a rep to fix it and it worked for a couple of days. He then had them send out someone else to check on it and they said that it had to be pumped out with nitrogen and that he didn’t have any on his truck and that they will have someone out to fix it at the beginning of the week. After about a weeks worth of phone calls and emails they finally got their appliance fixed. But the family went through more hassles than what they should have.
