Many people in this world have been stereotyped based on one physical thing. However they couldn’t be anymore wrong, because every person is unique in their capabilities and everyone has own culture and language that they feel comfortable with.
When someone is walking down the street they are being judged and stereotyped by the way they look or the way they dress, whether it is positive or negative. For example, when I first started telling my peers that I was deaf they really didn’t believe me at first because I was capable of doing such a variety things and I wasn’t angry at them for thinking that because deaf people are apparently supposed to be stupid to some degree because of the saying “deaf and dumb” and it was eventually made into a stereotype over time. Stereotypes are a part of our everyday life; we hear them every day and everywhere. Sometimes we can find ourselves in a situation where we subconsciously make stereotypes for a large group of people. Every person, regardless of age, gender, race, or even the way you dress is labelled with either positive or negative stereotypes. Each group is called by a name, that doesn’t really fit to everyone in that specific group and they affect people’s social lives, emotions, and how people interact with their environment.
For someone’s entire life, they always thought that they were like everyone else, and nothing really set them apart, that was until someone pointed out something minor about them, and makes that person feel alienated and self-conscious. Like for example my first day of elementary school some kids pointed that I was wearing hearing aids and apparently that was weird and out of the ordinary, so I was bullied because of it for a very long time. Everyone gets bullied for some reason or other whether it be at school or at work or even at home. As you can also see that people get tired of being criticized all the time and when there is no one able to close people’s mouths, they start to become isolated. In the same way they don’t talk, because they are afraid to say or do something wrong, so that they won’t look silly. We should learn how to control our feelings and emotions, instead of letting stereotypes control them.
Now there’s two option someone can pursue here, one being letting the situation bring you down and see it as an obstacle (You just go to your room and sit alone in a corner)or the other option where you can embrace it and appreciate that it makes you special and unique. For
