I am applying for a job at Hays plc recruitment, and this report details the structure of the organisation; its business, and its stakeholders. It will also demonstrate an understanding of various commercial considerations that affect the business and its operation. I will also be analysing the companies graduate employment procedures.

Hays are prominent international authorities regarding qualified, professional and skilled recruitment. Within the past year Hays’ experts positioned more than 50,000 people into work and around 180,000 people into temporary assignments. Hays employ 7,800 staff in over 200 offices which stretch across 33 countries and 20 specialisms. In the last year Hays businesses were opened in Chile, Columbia and most recently Malaysia.

Clients are aided daily to deal with aptitude deficiencies within certain markets, whereas personnel are to be remodelled in others.

Adecco is one of the world’s principal occupation agencies. Holding more than 100,000 clients from more than 5,500 workplaces worldwide. First and foremost the company provide temporary staffing services, as this constitutes more than 90% of the total sales. It also offers permanent employee placement, project assistance, outsourcing and other human resources-related services. It was founded in 1957 and grew through mergers and acquisitions.

ManpowerGroup is also one of the world’s largest providers of temporary employees, employing over 3 million clients in office, industrial, and professional positions every year ManpowerGroup has over 3000 owned or franchised offices in 80 counries and territories. It offers various amenities using different brands,such as ManpowerGroup Solutions, Manpower and Experis.

Randstad Holding is one of the largest temporary staffing and employment services agencies in the world behind Adecco. Its main markets are held in Europe, but also in Asia and North America. Throughout over 4,000 locations in over 40 countries, Randstad has supplied temporary workers for small scale deployments as well as large scale deployments. It also offers permanent placements. It was established in 1960.

As a company Hays are heavily involved within the specialist recruitment market. They operate based on a contingent fee model as clients pay fees to the company as a part of the salary paid to the worker. Fees paid to the company differ based on the type of work offered to the candidate by the client. For example, if the candidate is involved in a temporary placement then fees will be assigned when the candidate is involved in an assignment. If the candidate is placed within a permanent work placement, then the fee is finalised when the candidate actually begins work. The companies structure is built around 3 regions around the world, thus make it a global business. This structure allows 5,013 consultants to work from over 240 offices in 33 countries which is unparalled within specialist recruitment. Vitally though, it must be noted that Hays hold important positions within many of the most important markets in the world, some of which include Australia Germany and the United Kingdom. This allows the company to understand clients challenges locally to a certain degree, whereas their global influence allows them to solve the problems internationally.

The business model that Hays adheres to is undoubtedly unique in it’s diversity as it offers a broad range of expertise on the various types of contract, the geography and specialism. This allows Hays to serve their clients as best as possible as regardless of where they are in the world and regardless of whatever challenges they face.
