Capstone Project – Critical Risks Assessment and Milestones Schedule Johnson’s Shoe Emporium & Repair Shop (“Johnson’s”) is a high-end retail shoe store for men. The store will sell dressy and casual shoes, ankle boots and other accessories for men. The purpose of Johnson’s is to sell non-athletic shoes of the highest quality so that The original purpose of Johnson’s is to be an exclusive high-end retail store for men. The store will sell dressy and casual men’s shoes to men of the age of 20+. The store will also offer accessories that men might pick-up as an after thought and the availability of the shoe repair service will be a big hit since shoe repair shops are difficult to find. If worst comes to worst and Johnson’s has problems with sales and foresees difficulty in even breaking even, or if there should be doubts about being able to support itself on an ongoing basis, and the store is not able to carry out its original business plan, the shoe repair service will be expanded. Presently, the repair service is for customers only. The repair service will be opened to the public and will include all shoes – women and children - and not just shoes sold by the store. This will probably entail hiring a competent shoe repairman who could be retained even after the original business plans are reinstituted. The store front will be redecorated with emphasis placed on the shoe repair service. Major shoe repairs will be emphasized, for instance, replacing whole soles with detailed stitching. Also, the repair of leather handbags will be added. This will include replacing zippers along with handles and straps. If all else fails, Johnson’s could add the addition of the up-line of tennis/sneakers. The store would only carry one or two of the top brand names – Nike
