The article ‘Qantas piles pressure on government over soaring carbon bill’ (2014) Herald Sun states that Qantas are suffering from the carbon tax. Only in its first half of 2014 the bill had reached $59 million. This is a form of a political influence as the government policy has had a considerable impact on the business environment. The article ‘Apple pays $193m tax in Australia on $27b revenue as Federal Government vows to capture lost taxes’ provides us with an external legal influence. There is an investigation with the Australian Apple Company, which has shifted their profits around the world to minimize its tax. The company has only 193 million dollars to the Australian tax office from 2002, despite getting 27 billion dollars of income during that time. Society expects companies abide the law in its country. It is essential that all companies understand the laws, so they avoid problems. Here the Australian financial analysis has provided evidence for the company shifting billions of dollars in untaxed profits offshore.

The expected profit was expected to be between $17 million and $18 million, down from $19.1 million. Mr. Bryce’s Company has come under intense competition for rival retailers. Three of Australia’s biggest iron ore miners are in trouble shown in the article ‘Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Fortescue Metals stripped of $15bn in value as iron ore price slumps’ It had taken its biggest one-day fall in more than four years .The price of iron ore has slumped 22 per cent since the start of the year and is now at its lowest point since August 2012. The cause of the three companies losing money comes down to Chinese steel mills running down their inventories and renewed fears that a slowdown in China combined with an increase in manufacture will guide to a excess supply. The article ‘Toyota to exit Australia, 30,000 jobs could go’ states that the Australian car industry Toyota will no longer be making cars beyond 2017. There were a number of reasons why this call has happened but most significantly was the market and economic factors with the unfavorable Australian dollar making exports to expensive to be successful. This is a practice of external economic factor.

There has been an incident were the company Telstra has breached privacy laws when it release personal information of nearly 16,000 people including there full names, addresses and phone numbers in spread file sheets available through Google.
