High school is the school most awaited by all children, and they know that once at high school they will be able to experience their senior activities like Prom, Winter Formal, and Gradnight. This is all children wait for before finally graduating high school. No parents can feel more proud than seeing their children receive their high school diploma, yet not all children accomplish this. Unfortunately, during the journey to achieve their high school diploma adolescents get beaten down by their schoolmates. From kindergarten children to adolescents they all get bullied at school whether it’s from how they dress or who they talk to. Bullying happens in every school and causes dramatic changes in children’s lives, which can lead them to commit suicide or do drugs. Many adults still see bullying as part of being a kid, yet the pain that comes from being bullied affect children’s lives and cause them to act and think irrationally and commit suicide. Many children can’t handle the negativity someone tells them and this causes them to try and takes their lives as a result of it. In many cases bullies often tell their victims how they are unworthy or how they don’t fit into their school, but what the victim doesn’t know is that often times that is how the bully feels about himself. Although children may be told to ignore what other children may tell them, it still stays in their mind until one day they can no longer take it. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year (Bullying and Suicide). Many adults don’t seem to know exactly how bullying works. Not only is bullying emotional, but there is also physical bullying, cyberbullying, and sexting. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it (Bullying and Suicide). Many family and friends often don’t see the warning signs until it’s too late, but they can still prevent suicide in many ways. Although sometimes children don’t try to commit suicide, but rather fit in which can lead them to drugs. Often bullies pick on children who are very smart and talented, for they envy them. Bullies are often seen as the popular kids of the school, and when they pick on a kid who is smart and unpopular
