Siddhartha Gautama was born in Kapilvastu district which lies in lumbini zone of Nepal. He was a son to Ruler Suddhodana and Queen Mayadevi. He was given name “Siddhartha” which meant the one who achieves his aim. The person with supernatural insight who could see the visions of the future in his mind visited the king and all of sudden his eyes was flared up with tears. The seer knew that the Prince will turn out to be a “Buddha “but the holy man will not be alive to hear his teachings. The king was scared and tried every possible ways to stop his son from turning his life into religion. The King found out that the four signs which were old man, sick man, dead man and a holy man. King didn’t let it happen and he married Siddhartha to Yosadara.
On the way in his visit to a park outside a city he saw old, sick, dead people and a seeker. Therefore, He wanted to be a seeker as well. After returning to palace, He left all his family and went far to live his life as a seeker. Open Ended Questions:

Response: I really feel glad because this story was placed in World Literature class for this Semester. However, I felt bad as there were wrong Facts presented in the first paragraph. Siddhartha Gautama was not born between Nepal and border of Indian state of Bihar. He was born in Lumbini zone of Nepal and there are lot of facts which suggests Buddha was born in Nepal. Famous King Ashoka visited the birth place of Buddha and built a pillar which is named as “Asoka Pillar” I feel sad when he left his family but I was really pleased he did so to get
