British Colonizing in Nigeria

In the late 19th and early 20th century, Europeans had raced to colonize the country Africa. Great Britain was the leaders at this time in colonizing the land filled with rich natural recourses. These recourses were considered a necessity to the industrialization of the world, specifically Nigeria. During this colonization that Great Britain was doing in their new land, you could imagine that the locals were not too happy about this. The British had no respect for the culture or Nigerian traditions. The longer they stayed the more that they adopted for each other's cultures. However even with the cultural exchanges between the two countries, there was much conflict for the people of a dark colored skin
The British people had discovered vaccines that challenged some of the main killer viruses in Africa. However most of the people of Nigeria still objected to the colonization of their country. The Europeans justified their colonization through the theory of Social Darwinism, survival of the fittest. The people of Great Britain had taken many of the recourses in Nigeria to use them for their own benefit. So the African people got something from the people of Great Britain, and the British had gotten something from the Africans. The conflicts in Nigeria and in all of Africa were almost too many to count at the time. Many of the colonizers did not care about the African people; they cared about marking their territory and getting the natural recourses found in Africa. When putting borders around their territory, Great Britain had included warring tribes in their new "country" and told them to get along. As one can imagine this did not sit well with the people of Nigeria. So not only were the Nigerians against the British, they were against each other as well. When the British people were first accepted as residents, all those who opposed this foreign intervention rebelled. The rebellion did not last long for the British were by far more advanced in technology, they had guns, and the rural people of Nigeria did not stand a chance.
