Bitterness
Love and hatred, which will be talking louder? Some people say where is love come the hate and others say where there is love there is not hated. Which one could be truthful? In the story of “Much Ado about Nothing”, we are going to witness many of those incidents take place in the characters of Benedick and Beatrice. We are going to spectator how their strong character prevents them to follow their heart. Moreover, we are going to notice that instead of differences between them that they have much more coincidence in their characters. Further down, they are going to experience; how their character has the same thoughts and feelings, and always speaking or thinking about one another is a good match. Perchance, what is right for Beatrice may be wrong for Benedick. On the other hand, they believe that the decisions they make are based pure on the hard rule they create, which transpires on their moral beliefs.
Beatrice way of living was beyond a fairytale. She has her feet on the ground, and for her love was something that will never approach her thoughts. She had such solid character that she “ rather hear the dog bark at a crow than a man swear he loves her”. Perhaps, love wasn’t part of her plans in appreciation of a good life. For her, there is much to appreciate in life than live miserable suiting any man wishes or desire. Beatrice consider herself a strong character because she rather be alone for the rest of life than married a man that doesn’t fulfill her wills. However, who can satisfy her requirements if “ Adams son are my brethren, and truly I hold it a sin to match in my kindred”. Can we say she is unloved, or she may carry a shield with her because a man before deceived her? The same way we have Benedick a young bachelor that believes that love is for fools. He disbelieves that woman are trustworthy special when the subject is love. He consider them deceivers and exploitative of man debility. Benedick says” That a woman conceived me, I thank her; that she brought me up, I likewise give her most humble thanks; but that I will have a recheat winded in my forehead, or hang my bubble in an invisible baldric, all women shall pardon me. Because I will not do them the wrong to mistrust any, I will do myself to trust none”. Base in these allegations we can acknowledge how much in common Beatrice and Benedick have. Two lives with enough pride to reject the good deeds that life may offer them. In addition, its evident the things they speak more in the end are the most that frighten them, such as love. They are afraid to hurt their heart; presumably because the pain they may feel will never heal. However, how you are going to get hurt if you don’t expose yourself? Someway they answer their own questions to let their hearts fall in love once more. They unveil their hearts and let their feelings speak louder than their tough character. Such character they had fall short in their claims for an expected partner; as Beatrice claim “with a good and a good foot, uncle, and money enough in his purse, such a man would win any woman in the world” Benedick claim “Rich she shall be, that’s certain: wise, or I will none; virtuous, or I will never cheapen her; fair, or I will never look on her; mild, or come not near me; noble, or not I for an angel”.
