A biometric time attendance system is a time clock that tracks employee attendance, including when they clock in, when they clock out, and if they showed up when they were scheduled to work. The three(3) marketing forces that have the largest impact on the Biometric Time and Attendance System are demographic, political, and technological environments. Demographic Environment of marketing consists of the age, race, sex, location, etc., of the market in which an organization operates. It is also used to segment the target population for effective marketing. The impact on the type of effectiveness of biometric technology would have depends on how and where it is used. Each quality has its own strengths and weaknesses. Some of the key deciding factors for selecting biometric time attendance systems include evaluating the environment, needs, population size, and user considerations. (HR Magazine, 2007).When implementing a biometrics system there are a number of factors that need to be considered and different types of biometric system are more appropriate for certain contexts and operational purposes. A key consideration is performance and this relates to the speed and accuracy of the recognition that can be affected by the environment where the system operates. Political Environment of marketing consists of the legislation, and policies established by many government agencies. The United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator (US-VISIT) system is used in the US to track individuals entering the country by matching fingerprints of their left and right index finger and a facial image against a database of banned individuals which in 2007 contained 2.5 million names (Jain, 2004). The political environment would heavily impact the biometric time attendance system because of number of individuals it has the ability to keep track of. Especially with the recent Government Shutdown in place, there are open doors for errors to occur, involving security and or identity issues. Technological Environment consists of the forces that affect the technology that can create new products, markets, or opportunities. A properly designed implementation plan involves a series of evaluations, first focusing on technology evaluation, then assessing performance in a mock environment (scenario evaluation), followed by live testing on site (operational evaluation) before full operations begin. If done properly, users will know, to a high degree of accuracy, how the system will perform (Biometrics, 2000). In
